University Council

About Council

The Council of the University serves as both the executive and administrative authority of the institution. The Venerable Vice Chancellor holds a dual role, serving as a member of the Council as well as its Chairman. The Council is composed of all Faculty Deans, representatives from the Senate, Secretaries from the Ministries responsible for Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, ministerial nominees, and members appointed by the Hon. Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education. At present, the Council of our University comprises 19 members, with the majority being venerable members of the monastic community.
