Message from Dean

Ven. Prof. Moragollagama Uparathana Thero

Dean - Faculty of Graduate Studies

It is with great pleasure I welcome you to the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS), University of Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka. The Faculty of Graduate Studies is committed to produce high calibre academics and researchers with postgraduate qualifications in the field of Buddhist Studies, Pali, Sanskrit, Sinhala, English, Archeology and other disciplines offered by the university’s two other faculties, addressing the evolving needs of the country. All programs conducted by the Faculty of Graduate Studies are aligned with Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework. (SLQF)

I would like to mention that as faculty members of a state university, we have taken all possible measures to increase the number of Post Graduate research projects and enhance academic activities within the faculty. Our faculty has adopted the strategy of offering postgraduate programs at a reasonable course fee, with the aim of producing highly qualified graduates. It is also worth noting that although the university receives a very little profit from its post graduate courses, it has established a number of scholarship funds to provide financial assistance and support to students. The program is expected to offer scholarships and financial support to around one hundred students annually.

As the Dean of the Faculty, I cordially invite you to successfully complete your postgraduate degree programme in collaboration with the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, a highly reputed university and a member of the Association of commonwealth universities.
