Center for Quality Assurance
Introduction to Center for Quality Assurance
The Center for Quality Assurance (CQA) at the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka is dedicated to upholding high academic standards and fostering continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and administration. Guided by the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF), the Center for Quality Assurance ensures that academic programs are developed, assessed, and enhanced to meet nationally and internationally recognized quality benchmarks.
By doing so, the Center for Quality Assurance supports the university’s core mission of propagating Buddhism through the cultivation of knowledgeable, skilled graduates equipped to contribute meaningfully to society.
Also, the Center for Quality Assurance is responsible for implementing these quality assurance principles and maintaining institutional standards. It provides essential guidelines for curriculum development and revision, policy formulation, and the regulation of academic and non-academic staff activities. Through these efforts, the Center for Quality Assurance strengthens the capacity of the university to align with both national and international quality assurance systems while nurturing a community of intellectual seekers prepared to meet future challenges.
Message from the Director

Ven. Prof. Wawwe Dhammarakkhitha Thero
Director
Center for Quality Assurance
The primary aim of establishing the Center for Quality Assurance (CQA) at the Sri Lanka Buddhist and Pali University is to ensure a high standard of quality in the academic qualifications awarded to our students. This is essential not only to meet national benchmarks but also to facilitate international recognition of our degree programs. In alignment with the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) and national guidelines, Internal Quality Assurance Centers have been established in all universities across the country. This initiative has led to notable improvements in institutional performance and accountability.
At our university, the CQA plays a pivotal role in enhancing the structure and delivery of all academic programs. Our goal is to elevate these programs to meet and exceed the recommended standards of quality assurance. The Center operates under the guidance of the university’s Senate Standing Committee and is committed to fostering a university-wide culture of continuous quality improvement.
The CQA is entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring quality standards across both academic and non-academic sectors of the university. By integrating quality assurance into every facet of university operations, we strive to support evidence-based decision-making and institutional excellence.
As the Director of the Center for Quality Assurance, I reaffirm our dedication to achieving these objectives. We remain committed to ongoing improvement, collaboration, and innovation in fulfilling our mandate.
